New rules for foreign companies owning UK property

1/07/2016

At a recent Anti-Corruption Summit held in London in May 2016, the government has made a public commitment to implement transparency proposals that would affect companies registered outside the UK.

This will catch overseas owners of property in the UK who will have to declare who owns them through a public register of those with significant control. This information will be public.

Formal consultation will be held by the UK government later this year.
